Village United CIC is supported by a diverse Board that brings together professional expertise, safeguarding oversight, grassroots insight, and lived experience. This structure ensures strong governance, accountability, and decisions that reflect the needs of children, families, and communities.

Our Board Structure

 

Chair of the Board

 

Provides independent leadership of the Board, ensures effective governance, supports strategic direction, and acts as a critical friend to the Director.

 

Director (Founder & Operations Lead)

 

Responsible for organisational leadership, delivery, partnerships, and operational management, ensuring the mission and values of Village United CIC are upheld.

Director (Non-Executive)

 

Provides independent challenge, strategic oversight, and support, contributing to decision-making, risk management, and long-term sustainability.

​

Independent Safeguarding Advisor

 

Provides independent professional oversight of safeguarding practice, policy, and decision-making, ensuring safeguarding remains child-centred and aligned with national standards.

Finance Lead (Board Role)

​

Oversees financial governance, budgeting, reporting, and risk, ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible use of funds.

Grassroots Sport Representative

​

Brings frontline insight from grassroots sport, ensuring delivery reflects club realities, inclusion needs, and good practice within community sport environments.

 

Parent Voice Representative

 

Represents the perspectives of families accessing support, ensuring decisions reflect lived experience and the real needs of parents and carers.

 

Youth Voice Representative

 

Ensures children and young people’s voices inform decision-making, programme design, and evaluation in a safe, supported, and age-appropriate way.
