Board Responsibilities

The Board of Directors is responsible for:

  • Setting the organisation’s strategic vision and priorities

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Overseeing financial management and sustainability

  • Ensuring strong safeguarding arrangements

  • Monitoring performance, risk, and impact

  • Upholding the values and mission of Village United CIC

Safeguarding Oversight

 

Safeguarding is central to our governance.

  • A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is appointed within the organisation

  • An Independent Safeguarding Advisor provides professional oversight, challenge, and guidance

  • All safeguarding policies are reviewed regularly

  • Partner organisations must meet safeguarding standards and cooperate with our procedures

This structure ensures accountability, independence, and child-centred decision-making.

As a Community Interest Company, Village United CIC operates under an asset lock. This means:

  • All surplus is reinvested into community benefit

  • No profits are distributed for private gain

  • Activities are regulated by the CIC Regulator

  • Annual accounts and reports are submitted in line with requirements

Working With Partners

 

We work collaboratively with:

  • Grassroots sports clubs

  • Schools and education settings

  • Community and family support services

  • Funding bodies and local partners

All partners are expected to uphold safeguarding and ethical standards consistent with our values.
